It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our close friend and fellow Board Member, Kate McInturff.

Kate was a renowned leading Canadian feminist and researcher on gender equality. She served on our Board from 2015-2018, providing a lasting contribution to our efforts to integrate gender equality into natural resource management in areas where security and human rights are at risk.

She dedicated her career to improving women’s rights in Canada and globally. In her role at the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, Kate provided timely and expert research on Canada’s gender gap and solutions to close it.

In a final blog for the CCPA, Kate reflected on her life of advocacy—and how data proved to be a powerful tool for change, when “a women can show you the money.”

We celebrate Kate’s life and honour her legacy by picking up the calculator and continuing her work towards gender equality across the globe.
